Sayak Bhattacharya is a cinematography graduate from Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI), India.

In 2009, he won the ‘Best Student Cinematography’ award in Munich International Film Festival for his diploma film ‘Germ’. 

‘A Summer Flu’, a short film was selected in Oberhausen International Short Film Festival in 2014. It has also won the TOTO (TOTO Funds The Arts in association with TASVEER) award in 2014.

'Ludo', a Bengali feature directed by Qaushiq Mukherjee (Q) and shot by Sayak has been awarded the 'Best Film' in Belgrade International Film Festival, Serbia 2016. It was premiered in Fantasia Film Festival, in 2015. 

He has recently shot a Hindi fiction feature film named "Dear Maya" starring Manisha Koirala. The film is in post-production.
